Virgin Atlantic Heathrow Club House Entry Requirements Changes

Virgin Atlantic joined the SkyTeam alliance on March 2, 2023 (read more here) after a relatively brief integration period due to Delta’s significant stake in the airline.

A reader alerted us about some unannounced entry conditions changes to the Virgin’s Club House (lounge) at London’s Heathrow. VirginAtlantic and SkyTeam already previously had carved out exceptions to the Heathrow Club House entry rules that have now been expanded.

You can access Virgin Atlantic here.

Current Virgin Club House Heathrow Entry Requirements:

Passengers travelling in the following cabins

  • Upper Class on Virgin Atlantic + guest traveling with Virgin Atlantic or Delta
  • Delta One on Delta
  • Clase Premier on Aeroméxico

Passengers with the following loyalty status

  • Flying Club Gold Card members + a guest traveling with Virgin Atlantic, Delta or Aeroméxico
  • Delta SkyMiles Diamond and Platinum Medallions + a guest traveling in premium on Virgin Atlantic or Delta premium
  • Flying Blue Platinum members + a guest traveling in premium on Virgin Atlantic or Delta premium

Previous Virgin Club House Heathrow Entry Requirements:

Passengers traveling in the following cabins

  • Upper Class on Virgin Atlantic + a guest
  • Delta One on Delta
  • Connecting to La Première on Air France + a guest
  • Clase Premier on Aeroméxico

Passengers with the following loyalty status

  • Flying Club Gold Card members + a guest traveling with Virgin Atlantic, Delta or Aeroméxico
  • Delta SkyMiles Diamond and Platinum Medallions + a guest traveling on Virgin Atlantic or Delta
  • Flying Blue Platinum members + a guest traveling on Virgin Atlantic or Delta
  • All other SkyTeam Elite Plus* members + a guest traveling on Virgin Atlantic, Delta or Aeroméxico
  • Virgin Australia Velocity Club Gold, Platinum, and The Club card holders traveling on Virgin Atlantic
  • Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Gold, Solitaire PPS Club and PPS Club members traveling on Virgin Atlantic
  • Air New Zealand Gold or Elite members traveling on Virgin Atlantic to San Francisco

Conclusion

I have not recently flown on Virgin Atlantic, and not sure how busy the Club House is.

Now only Flying Club Gold members with a guest can access the Club House if flying in economy.

Delta SkyMiles Diamond and Platinum and Flying Blue Platinum members can access the Club House if they are flying on Virgin Atlantic or Delta Premium (must be their wording for Premium Economy).

All others, regardless of elite status, can only access the Club House if they are flying on Virgin Atlantic, Delta, or AeroMexico in business.

The exceptions carved out to Virgin Australia, Singapore Airlines, Air New Zealand, and Air France La Premiere fliers are also out.
