Alaska Airlines & Porter Airlines Frequent Flier Partnership In 2024

Alaska Airlines and Porter Airlines, which begins flying from Toronto to San Francisco and Los Angeles in January, have announced a partnership that begins on January 1, 2024.

Mileage Plan members who book Porter flights on Alaska’s website will earn miles from January 1. There will be enhanced award availability on Alaska and Porter for each airline’s frequent fliers sometime in 2024, when you will also earn miles regardless of the booking channel.

You can access Alaska’s page for Porter Airlines here.

Relevant Part of Alaska’s Announcement:

Alaska and Porter will continue to strengthen our partnership next year. Coming in 2024, Mileage Plan and VIPorter members will earn miles in their respective loyalty programs no matter where they book their flights. Next year will bring even more benefits with access to mileage redemptions with enhanced availability for both Mileage Plan and VIPorter members on each other’s airline.

Booking Porter’s flight on Alaska’s website is the most obvious option, but you have to wait until sometime in 2024 when this requirement is no longer in place. Then, again sometime in 2024, you can redeem Mileage Plan miles for Porter’s flights.

Conclusion

I have looked at flying on Porter several times in Canada but have never done so. Now that they have a partnership with Alaska, perhaps it might sway my flying habits.

Porter uses the very convenient downtown airport in Toronto and has expanded from pure domestic + select nearby US destinations to Florida and the West Coast.
