Moscow Awaits Washington's Approval for New Ambassador

Delayed Appointment

Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov announced on Saturday that Moscow has yet to receive the United States' consent for its newly appointed ambassador, as reported by the state-owned news agency RIA.

Former Russian Ambassador Anatoly Antonov concluded his tenure in October, leaving the position vacant.

Diplomatic Efforts

In a recent meeting between Russia and the United States, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio indicated that both nations would establish high-level delegations to facilitate the restoration of their diplomatic missions in Washington and Moscow. This measure aims to smoothen future discussions.
