Interactive word puzzle game

Connections Sports Edition: A Trivia Test for Sports Lovers

Connections: Sports Edition, a new version of the popular New York Times word game, tests the knowledge of sports enthusiasts. Like its predecessor, the game focuses on finding common threads between words.

Concept and Gameplay

Every day, Connections presents 16 words grouped into four categories. Players aim to determine the shared connection within each category. Correctly identifying all four words in a category removes them from the board. Wrong guesses count as mistakes, with a maximum of four allowed.

To assist players, categories are color-coded, with yellow indicating the easiest sets and purple the most challenging. Similar to Wordle, players can share their results with others on social media.

Today's Categories

Yellow: Inexperienced Green: Types of outs in baseball Blue: Boston Celtics stars Purple: Colleges in state capitals

Answers Revealed
