Elon Musk's Ultimatum Sends Federal Employees into a Frenzy
Elon Musk sparked commotion within federal employees over the weekend after issuing an ultimatum via X: submit an email detailing their accomplishments from the previous week or face termination.
"In line with President @realDonaldTrump's instructions, federal employees will receive an email shortly requesting an overview of their achievements last week," tweeted Musk. "Failure to respond will be interpreted as a resignation."

Despite Musk's propensity for sharing misinformation on X, this demand was confirmed as genuine. The email, distributed to federal employees on Saturday, was verified as authentic by the Office of Personnel Management (per the BBC).
However, the mass email request for responses provoked both leaks and mockery. The designated response address was swiftly leaked on X.

Soon, a deluge of responses followed.

It remains unclear whether Musk will personally review these emails. Nevertheless, some senders may be indifferent, as their primary aim is to overwhelm the email address in protest against Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Mashable has attempted to contact the email address published on X. While we have not yet received a response, the lack of a bounce-back suggests the address is valid.
